The FMPA is aimed at action at national and international levels, and was developed in collaboration with members and feminist allies across sectors. It recognizes the need to respond to and address the systemic causes of increased displacement and dispossession — further fueled by the global economic, political and social crises, including  the backlash against rights.

From the FMPA Foreword…

“…A feminist approach to migration compels us to look beyond borders, beyond simplified narratives, and beyond technocratic fixes. It requires us to acknowledge the structural and powerful forces that shape human mobility today and have shaped it historically; to name and expose discourses that devalue care, criminalise survival, and silence those most affected by discriminatory policies; and to place the leadership of migrant women, workers, activists, and communities at the centre.

This Agenda is not only a policy framework. It represents a collective call to action—for civil society, governments, and multilateral institutions alike. It invites all of us to remain steadfast in our commitment to uphold human rights in practice. May it serve us in imagining and building a world where migration is safe, dignified, and just.

In presenting this Agenda, we honour the knowledge, courage, and leadership of migrant women and gender-diverse people who continue to lead change with vision and resilience…”

Spotlight Report on Global Migration 2026 Now Available!

The Spotlight Report on Global Migration 2026 (SRGM) is now available in English, French and Spanish. Key elements — the Executive Summary, Recommendations, and Infographics — are also available in other languages.

The report was launched March 3 in an online event featuring contributors. The SRGM addresses key migration issues leading up to the 2nd International Migration Review Forum May 5 – 8 in New York. It urges governments to uphold human rights and take specific actions to regularize migration, end detention, expand labor protections and more.
