On May 7th, WIMN organized the presentation of the Spotlight Report on Global Migration 2026 (SRGM2026) at a parallel event during the International Migration Review Forum (IMRF). This presentation was part of the Women’s Caucus, and it started with a panel that included the Director of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) office in New York and two authors of the report: Carol Barton, former co-coordinator of WIMN, and Bariyah, program officer of the International Domestic Workers Federation (IDWF). These speakers were followed by a governmental panel which included representatives of the Permanent Missions to the UN from Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Portugal. After the two panels, participants in the Women’s Caucus divided into six breakout groups to discuss how to take advocacy efforts to the national level based on the key thematic recommendations of the SRGM 2026 on regular pathways, regularization, care economy, climate change, criminalization of migration, and digital technologies. The report summarizes the breakout sessions.
